Brief on Nepal-Switzerland relations

Nepal-Switzerland relations have grown and widened over the years since the establishment of diplomatic relations on November 10, 1959. The two countries enjoy long standing close and friendly relationship. Switzerland is one of the oldest development partners of Nepal, which remains a priority country for Swiss development cooperation. Besides, Switzerland is an important export market for Nepalese products. There is a strong bond of people to people relationship nurtured by common feeling of geographical similarities. For some years, the Swiss people and government are keenly following political developments in Nepal and are strong supporter of the peace process.
